01 · SynopsisThe story
Sarab. A coastal city of four million, sealed behind concrete and lead for three years. Inside it, a bioagent called Ash kills everyone who breathes it within forty hours. Everyone except one man.
Adam Mourn was an officer in the Quarantine Corps, one of the men ordered to close the gates on the people inside. The night his partner died in his arms, Adam learned that the plague passes through him and never touches him. His lungs carry Ash in full. His blood cancels it. He has not taken the mask off since. Not for his own sake, but because every breath he lets out carries death to whoever stands close.
When an encrypted message arrives from Dr. Layla Qassem, the last scientist alive inside Helix Tower, Adam understands two things. His blood is the only cure. And the company that built the plague wants him dead, because a living cure cannot be sold. A cure extracted from a corpse can.
Then the army makes its announcement. In 72 hours Sarab will be burned with everyone still inside. Adam has to cross a dead city, hunted by Helix and by his own conscience, and reach the tower before everything turns to ash. Literally.
